MTL5074

Description

MTL5074 is a single-channel temperature converter from Eaton MTL for THC or RTD inputs, suitable for hazardous areas.

Input Characteristics

• Signal Source: THC types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N; 2/3/4-wire platinum RTDs (100 Ω at 0°C)

• Input Range: –75 to +75 mV or 0–400 Ω

• Input Span: 3–150 mV or 10–400 Ω

• RTD Excitation: 200 µA nominal

• Cold Junction Compensation: Automatic or selectable, error ≤1.0°C

• Common Mode Rejection: 120 dB for 240V (50/60 Hz)

• Series Mode Rejection: 40 dB

Accuracy & Drift

• Calibration Accuracy: ±15 µV / ±0.05% (THC), ±80 mΩ (RTD), Output ±11 µA

• Temperature Drift: ±0.003%/°C (THC), ±7 mΩ/°C (RTD), Output ±0.6 µA/°C

Output & Power

• Output Range: 4–20 mA nominal, direct or reverse

• Max Load Resistance: 600 Ω

• LED Indicator: Green for power/status

• Power Consumption: 68 mA at 24V, 82 mA at 20V, 52 mA at 35V

• Power Dissipation: 1.5 W at 24V, 1.6 W at 35V

Safety & Isolation

• Isolation: 250 V AC between safe and hazardous circuits

• Safety Drive on Sensor Burnout: Upscale, downscale, or off

• Safety Ratings: Terminals 1–3: Vout 1.1–6.6 V, Iout 7–76 mA, Pout ≤0.13 W depending on configuration

• Standard Setup: RTD 3-wire, linearisation enabled, CJ disabled, °C units, 0 s damping

• Alarms: Open circuit high, transmitter failure low, CJ failure low

• Configurator: PC with MTL PCS45 software and PCL45 interface
