Industrial Ethernet Network Functions

The switch combines eight shielded RJ45 copper interfaces with two Gigabit SFP fiber interfaces. Copper transmission supports CAT 5E shielded twisted-pair cabling with a maximum device-to-device distance of 100 m. The SFP interfaces provide Gigabit fiber connectivity.

Network management functions include VLAN, QoS, multicast filtering, IGMP snooping, SNMP traps, SYSLOG, TFTP, web-based configuration, port monitoring and port mirroring. Redundant network operation is supported through HiPER ring, RSTP and MRP functions. The specified ring configuration supports up to 50 switches.

Local diagnostics include power supply LEDs, fault indication, ring manager status, standby indication, per-channel link status and activity indication. A volt-free alarm contact reports power supply faults, data link status, redundancy ring faults and switch faults.

The unit is designed for 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail mounting and uses a removable 6-way power connector. The specified supply range is 9.6...60 VDC SELV or 18...30 VAC SELV.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many Ethernet ports does the TCSESM103F2LG0 provide?
A: It provides eight 10/100BASE-TX copper ports and two 1000 SFP Gigabit fiber optic ports.

Q: What mounting method is specified for the switch?

Field Installation Guidelines

  • Mount the switch on a mechanically secure 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail with sufficient clearance for connector access and cable routing.
  • Connect the specified supply through the removable 6-way power connector and verify that the applied voltage remains within the stated supply limits.
  • Use shielded CAT 5E twisted-pair cable for the copper ports and suitable fiber optic cabling for the Gigabit SFP interfaces.
  • Keep Ethernet signal wiring separated from high-current and high-voltage conductors where practical to reduce electromagnetic coupling.
  • Maintain the specified 100 m maximum copper cable distance between Ethernet devices.
  • Terminate cable shields according to the site's industrial grounding and EMC practice.
  • Verify link LEDs, power LEDs, fault indication and ring status after energization.
  • For redundant networks, verify the configured ring topology and confirm that redundancy status is correctly reported before placing the network into service.
  • The TCSESM103F2LG0 is discontinued as of 31 Dec 2022 and reached end-of-service on 31 Dec 2024. The supplied source identifies MCSESM123F2LG0 as the recommended replacement.
