Overview

The Allen‑Bradley 1606-XLRED20-30 is a redundancy module designed to decouple multiple identical power supply units in N+1 redundant configurations, with built‑in relay contacts for input voltage monitoring.

Voltage & Current Ratings

• Voltage: nominal 24V DC; max. rated 35V (short‑term 45V).
• Voltage drop (Vin → Vout): typ. 0.5V.
• Current per in‑ and output: nominal 20...30A; max. rated 35A.
• Parallel operation for increasing power: only permissible if total output current cannot exceed max. rated value.

Relay Contacts

• Relay type: changeover contact, picked‑up during normal operation; picks up when Vin between Vlow and Vhigh; drops out when Vin < Vlow or Vin > Vhigh.
• Upper limit Vhigh: 30V ±5% fixed; hysteresis appr. 0.7V.
• Lower limit Vlow: adjustable 16...27V; preset 22V ±1%; hysteresis appr. 0.7V.
• Contact load: 28V DC / 1A or 120V AC / 0.5A.
• All relay contacts are potential‑free.
• The 1606-XLRED20-30 includes two relay contacts, each per input.

LEDs

• Inputs: green LED when Vin between Vlow and Vhigh.
• Output: green LED when Vout > appr. 2.5...3.5V.

• Note: GND is not looped over the module; GND connector exclusively serves as intrinsic power supply.
