TCS Strengthens ABB Partnership with Global Network Transformation

TCS Strengthens ABB Partnership with Global Network Transformation

Expanding a Long-Term Partnership

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has deepened its collaboration with ABB by signing a multi-million, multi-year agreement to transform the industrial technology company’s global network operations. This marks the next stage in their 20-year partnership, moving beyond infrastructure and application management to deliver comprehensive end-to-end network services.

Introducing Network-as-a-Service

The engagement will be driven through an integrated Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) model. As part of this initiative, TCS will support ABB’s Future Network Model programme, a company-wide effort to standardize and centrally manage its global network infrastructure. This approach is designed to unify operations across diverse global locations, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Building a Secure and Scalable Architecture

TCS will design, integrate, and operate ABB’s global network ecosystem while orchestrating its multi-vendor environment. The transformation will replace fragmented systems with a secure, scalable, and service-driven architecture. This new model will combine service integration and management (SIAM), a global network operations center, advanced security capabilities, and modernized LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN infrastructure.

Enhancing Efficiency and User Experience

The programme aims to deliver tangible benefits, including improved user experience, higher operational efficiency, stronger security and compliance, and support for next-generation digital operations. End-to-end monitoring and orchestration will provide greater visibility, enabling high-performance connectivity across ABB’s worldwide operations.

Strategic Alignment with ABB’s Vision

ABB Group CIO Alec Joannou emphasized that the Future Network Model will strengthen the digital foundation supporting the company’s global operations. He noted that resilience, security, and alignment with long-term transformation goals are critical, and the partnership with TCS reflects a shared commitment to delivery excellence and continuous improvement.

Leveraging AI for Intelligent Operations

Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS, highlighted that AI is embedded into the new network operations model. Supported by secure digital infrastructure and TCS’s deep domain expertise, this approach transforms infrastructure into intelligence, creating a resilient and adaptive network backbone. AI will enable systems to continuously monitor, adapt, and improve, enhancing reliability, security, scalability, and user experience.

A Partnership Rooted in Transformation

This latest engagement builds on two decades of collaboration between TCS and ABB. Over the years, TCS has supported ABB in consolidating multiple ERP systems onto a unified SAP platform and accelerating cloud transformation initiatives. The new deal further strengthens TCS’s position in AI-enabled managed network services, as enterprises modernize infrastructure to support digital operations, automation, and large-scale AI adoption.
