A Strategic Alliance for Next-Generation Infrastructure

Honeywell has formed a major global strategic alliance with LS ELECTRIC to jointly develop and market advanced hardware and software solutions.
The alliance will help simplify power management and distribution for data center operators and other large facilities, significantly improving operational efficiency and resiliency.
By combining LS ELECTRIC's deep experience in rugged power systems with Honeywell's leadership in intelligent building automation and controls, this alliance creates a strong synergy.
Data center operators can now readily integrate critical power distribution into comprehensive building management capabilities, with load capacity always accurately matched.

AI-Driven Predictive Power Management

The two technology giants are already beginning their alliance by offering joint products.
They will first provide data center operators with integrated power management and switchgear to distribute energy and keep critical systems running at all times.
Additionally, the partnership anticipates developing groundbreaking electrical power monitoring systems.
The systems will be built on the Honeywell Forge platform, which boasts robust AI functionalities, in combination with LS ELECTRIC's software capabilities and power expertise.
They are being created to intelligently control energy consumption and distribution.
Additionally, they will leverage AI-enabled predictive maintenance to aid in the early detection of potential issues, which will minimize costly downtime and decrease power quality events.

Trailblazing Smart Battery Energy Storage Systems

In addition to power and controls integration, the companies will collaborate on an innovative grid- and building-aware Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
This is a specific solution for commercial and industrial buildings.
To help alleviate the tremendous and increasing strain on the global power grid, this end-to-end solution will create microgrids in target buildings and industrial facilities.
Consequently, this BESS is a feasible solution to improve resiliency and demand optimization.
This innovative modular solution seeks to integrate LS ELECTRIC's energy storage technology with Honeywell's dynamic energy management software.
This tool will intelligently predict the optimal energy source and price based on utility data, weather, and other risk factors.

The Future is Efficient and Resilient

Efficiency is an urgent requirement because data centers currently consume an estimated 1–2% of the world's electricity generation, and this is likely to grow exponentially.
This partnership positions Honeywell as a key single-source supplier of building automation controls and electrification solutions, enabling data centers to maximize energy efficiency and storage.

JongWoo Kim, President of LS ELECTRIC Power Electric, had the same opinion, stating that the partnership will yield differentiated solutions that enable operators to achieve reliability and energy efficiency simultaneously.
